Parking Lot

Watch for the parking lot attendant to direct you to a parking spot.

Be prepared for any type of weather. Please note there will only be crating in or next to your vehicle at this event.  Dogs must be crated at all times, and leashed while they are pottying or waiting for their turn to search. There is no indoor crating.

Discussing the test is not allowed nor is it acceptable as good sportsmanship. Keep it to yourself. Thumbs up for a pass, thumbs down for a miss.

Please be present for the briefing. We will not have time to accommodate a late arrival. We will not be offering a walk through.

Food:

There will not be any food or beverages available for competitors at the ORT.

PLEASE NOTE:

Dogs must be kept on a 6’ or shorter leash while in the general area of the trial grounds including the potty areas and while walking to and from search areas (Flexi leashes are not permitted except during searches). To ensure the safety of all dogs, please keep a minimum of 8 feet between dogs unless expressed consent is given. If your dog is dog-reactive and you wish to use a red bandana to let others know your dog needs extra space from other dogs, please plan to bring one for your dog.

Competitors should expect to keep their dogs confined when not competing. NACSWTM trials typically do not allow for dogs to hang out on leash in between searches. Competitors should plan to provide their own shade using canopies or shade cloths. In the event of extreme weather conditions, participants should be prepared to keep their dog adequately warm or cool in their vehicles or in crates adjacent to their vehicles. In the case of high air temperatures, dogs must be crated with adequate shade, ventilation and access to water. Dogs may not be loose in vehicles with open windows or tied to a vehicle or other stationary object.

Reactive Dogs:

As part of our commitment to making NACSW events fun, fair and safe for all competitors, we are working to better educate the entire K9 Nose Work community on the intended use of red bandanas at NACSW ORTs and trials, as well as making our rules regarding reactivity at official events as clear as possible. The red bandanas at NACSW events were always - and still are - meant for dogs who need a bit more space from other dogs. As always, NACSW events are not a time for doggie meet and greets. Please respect each other’s space and allow a minimum of 10 feet between your dog and all others at all times. We want everyone to have a good experience. No flexi leashes allowed except in test area. Please tell parking attendant that you would like reactive dog parking and you will be directed to that area.

Please see the NACSWTM Rule Book, section NACSWTM ORT & TRIAL REGULATIONS, Safety & Location Regulations for further explanation.

Please call or text us on trial day if you will not be able to attend or are delayed.

Have fun everyone and happy hunting.
